The SilencerCo Maxim 9 is the very first commercially available integrally suppressed 9mm pistol which can be holstered and is hearing safe using either super or sub-sonic ammo. The Maxim 9 comes from the factory with everything needed for use in both full length and shortened configurations. While in the short configuration (about 1″ reduction), the Maxim 9 is hearing safe with sub-sonic ammo. Either way, the Maxim 9 is one of the greatest leaps in silencer/pistol technology, created from the ground up by the genius minds at SilencerCo. Never again will you have to decide between keeping your pistol quiet and keeping it short. The Maxim 9 accepts Glock 17rd and 33rd magazines. As if you weren’t already sold on this amazing feat of engineering, it ships with night sights and it is cut from the factory to accept red dot sights.

After seeing and handling the Maxim 9 at dealer trade shows for more than 2 years in all of it’s previous iterations, SilencerCo wowed us with their final, production generation of the Maxim. Upon receiving our first batch of Maxims a couple of months ago, we immediately saddled one up with a Vortex Venom 3MOA red dot and put some American Eagle 124 gr Subsonic rounds through it. Even though the muzzle averages are a bit higher than a dedicated 9mm can, we couldn’t tell much of a difference with our naked ears. This is a manageable, even holster-able, 10.75″ overall length package several inches shorter than a pistol with a 9mm suppressor on it, so we were perfectly content with picking up a few decibels. Once converted to the shortened configuration, trimming it down to 9.54″, we were still impressed with it being hearing safe using subsonic ammo. The Maxim sets the new definition of the ideal “nightstand gun”.
